A nearby animal park had a flock of emus, including these little ones. Oz7_243.jpg	A ski lodge by winter, and hiking lodge by summer, this chalet, the only place to stay in Mt. Buffalo National Park was fit for a king! Oz7_246_272.jpg

The most prominent features of the central area of the park were the enormous granite boulders scattered in random piles throughout the hills. I took a 22 km hiking tour to visit the more prominent ones. Oz7_247.jpg	The higher points on the trail gave some wide open views. Oz7_248.jpg

The gorge at the far north of the park gave breathtaking views. In the summer time, this is a popular place for hang gliding, with the launching point just off to the right. Oz7_278-279.jpg

The gorge seen from below. These cliffs are over 1000 feet high, and have some great rock climbing... Oz7_279.jpg	... if you can get to them! This view of the gorge shows that the approach to these climbs is an all-day hike! Oz7_283.jpg
