My guide, Margaret Commins, who arranged my tours of the caves, poses under some wisteria.
2
The wisteria from close up. Have you noticed I’m a sucker for close-up shots of flowers?! (You haven’t seen the last of them yet!)
3
Inside the Orient Cave, a particularly ornamental cave, the variety of different formations is staggering!
4
These stalactites are easily thousands of years old.
5
Helictites swirl around and build sideways for inexplicable reasons. There are many theories, but no one can say for sure why they do this!
6
The monster of all stalagmites - the Pillar of Hercules - is over 50 feet tall!
7
The deep colors make the Orient Cave one of the more photogenic.
8
Even outside, some stalactites have formed over this natural archway.

Didn’t I tell you I wasn’t done yet with close-ups of flowers?! If they’re pretty, I’ll shoot ‘em wherever I find ‘em (even if I don’t know what they are)!
