1
So much open space… there’s nothing else for a poodle to do but run around like a maniac!
2
“Stretching my legs feels soooo good!”
3
Bob (the Rhodesian Ridgeback) isn’t missing out on the fun either.
4
Still running like there’s no tomorrow!
5
Lots of good sticks to chew on...
6
Let’s be sure to find the perfect one!
7
Mindy discovers she can’t really walk on water! The water surface must have looked solid to her, so she merrily walked right out onto it. Then, splash! “What a novice!” thinks Jamie, the poodle in the foreground.
8
After discovering she can’t walk on water, a surprised Mindy scrambles back up onto the rock while an amused Bill and Lisa look on.
9
Jamie (foreground poodle) is an old hand at this water business, and she demonstrates to Mindy that it’s not as solid as it looks.
10
We come to a creek crossing, and Mindy’s not too sure how to get across.
11
Boulder hopping is still new to Mindy, and she’s trying to figure out what’s solid enough to stand on.
12
Mndy finds safe ground on a boulder as she tries to figure out her next step across this creek.
13
Mindy is finally across the creek, and Bill giggles at her antics that got her there.
14
We all continue on our hike around North Lake.
15
Back at camp, Mindy finds the perfect…(wait for it!) ...
16
…three-dog chewing stick!
17
There’s plenty of room on this stick for three sets of canine teeth.
18
It’s the stick that keeps on giving...
21
Bob marches off proudly with the whole stick...
22
But Mindy’s not done with the stick yet...
23
There’s still more chewing to do!
24
Mindy and Bob leave no inch unchewed!
25
One final inspection of the stick, and the chewing’s just about done.
26
Now it’s time to relax. The wind has picked up, so the dogs curl up under some covers. Jamie has a bit more fur, so she hangs out in the breeze.
27
“I could get used to this outdoor life,” thinks Mindy.
28
“Can we do this everyday…?” Mindy asks as she starts to dream about finding the next chewing stick...
29
Mindy looks dignified even under a big painter’s drop cloth.
30
Mindy finally gives in to the exhaustion...
31
…and can barely keep her eyes open any longer.
32
Jamie joins Mindy and Bob under the covers. There’s quite a chill on the wind now.
33
Snooze time for the dogs while we humans start getting ready to fix dinner.
34
Outdoor-master-chef Bill starts the meal.
35
You’d hardly think we were camping, with Bill bringing all the comforts of home right here into the outdoors.
36
“There’s no point skimping on comforts when you only have to carry it 5 feet from the car to the camp!”
37
“Yeah, this is my idea of roughing it!” muses Lisa.
