At the largest Hindu temple in Kathmandu, a covered body in the center awaits cremation while another on the right is further along.

A Hindu family mourns the passing of a loved one, then hurries to perform the cremation as soon as possible so the spirit can be released into the river to start the journey to a new life.

On the other side of town, a Buddhist Stupa sits in the center of a plaza, surrounded by people quietly meditating or just enjoying a seat in the sun.
